Warrior Dash countdown

My lovely friend Laura got really ambitious this year and decided that we should enter the Warrior Dash: A 5k obstable course at Horseshow Valley resort. Sounded fun initially, and now that Ive looked at the obstacles I'm pretty pumped! Some include climbing over cargo nets and rappelling down a ravine, jumping over fire and climbing through a yard of rusted automobiles. Laura and I had planned a photoshoot the next day in cottage country, but Ill be lucky if I escape with both legs in tact (Im a bit accident prone....). Having spoken with clients (very athletic clients) who have done the run previously, the hills are the killer part. Ive been doing some short runs in the humid heat here, and barely survived the hills Ive attempted. Im hoping the obstacles with be a good break from the run.

Im trying to lean out a bit for the shoot, and for my own sanity. Having gained about 15 pounds since my last show (although everyone has been telling me its a good 15 pounds...) I would like to trim about 5 pounds of fat off. Today will be the last leg day before saturday, as my hamstrings are so tight it will take a few days to get them loose enough for the run (Id love to fit in yoga, but it wont work in my scedule). I'm trying to carb cycle as well as I can, but at the moment my dedication to cooking and packing meals is just not where it needs to be, but I will do the best I can. Friday will be carb up day and Sat am I will fast until we get to Barrie where we will go to Cora's for some Eggs Benedict.  My last run will be with a client on Wednesday where we will do a lot of hill work. Im not expecting to be in the top anything, just finishing in one piece would be nice! Happy training this week!
