Todays Leg Workout
17:10Whitney HillsIm thankful for my wonderful gym being open on a holiday! I decided to bring my hedgehogs to the gym Check them out in this blog post. My knee has been a bit tender from too much sitting (driving to cottage and back and home and back, and a movie at the theatre) and a long run, so took it easy on the heavy heavy weights. This is not for the faint of heart!
10 min bike warm up
squats with toes on floor heels on hedgehogs:
12 @bar only, 10 @ 95lbs, 10@ 95lbs, 10@95 lbs
split squats: 2 sets at 95 lbs 10 reps each side
deadlifts on smith. toes on floor, heels elevated on hedgehogs: 12 reps at 65lbs , 10 reps @ 95lbs, 10 reps @ 95 lbs, reverse feet, elevate toes: 2 sets @95lbs 10 reps
DTP style leg press/hamstring curls

50 reps 45 lbs each side press/ 35 lbs leg curls
40 reps kept weight same
30 reps 55lbs each side/ 45 lbs leg curl
20 reps 65lbs each side/ 50lbs leg curl
10 reps kept weight the same
20 reps kept weight the same
30 reps 55lbs each side/ 35 lbs leg curl
I finished here. Normally Id go for the full thing but I had a lot of walking around to clients, a thanksgiving to cook and 5 loads of laundry. Soooo I finished with....
40 alternating cross over lunges, 20 ball hip extensions, side bends on the ball 12 reps each side
Repeated twice...with some more core and foam rolling and stretches....I walked back the change room with my head down. I was pretty spent all afternoon after this one, although the weights are so light compared to what Im used to. Ive been so tight this week, gotta get on the pilates machine and in a groove with the foam roller.
